I myself have not aged….
My body evolved with the passing of time
Each wrinkle a progression
Each line an expression
Revealing rewards for challenging times

Pacing steps now slow with a backbone humped low
Huddled in a wool spun coat delighting in a rainbow
Allowing my Spirit to revisit childhood dreams
As an old park bench becomes my safe haven
Daily befriended by an inquisitive black raven

The seasons now pass
As I glimpse of rainy days through glass
Each day rests with a night’s prayer
Aware of eyes looking on with a pitiful glance
While my thoughts mingle in another one of life’s dance

My Life betroth by quality
My heart reveals humility
Lead by thoughts of spirituality
All gracefully blessed with nobility
While my Spirit energizes youth internally

While the Living sleep, the Dead awake
Translucent whispers through timeless paths
Arising from tombs of restless wrath
Smudging memories from weathered epitaphs

Jaunting glimpses of troubled days
Revisiting lessons of grieved pasts
Seeking enlightenment to wandering ways
Aimless searching ever lasts

Dead do waft through darkened night
At morn the sun gives brightened day
Time ticks by, as stars give light
The troubled Dead, rest, will nay!

Be grateful for what you’ve got
Never postpone a good deed
Forgive and let go
Smile when you’re sad
Use your God-given blessings
Accept Life’s challenges with open arms
Recognise and learn from your mistakes
Enjoy your tears as much as your laughter
Appreciate your connection with the universe
Life’s stream of conscience bonds us as one
Live for today for there maybe no tomorrow
Experience life, love Life for Life goes on!

Money

It’ll buy you a grand big house but never a home
It’ll buy you a fancy bed but never a peaceful night’s sleep
It’ll buy you sex but not true love
It’ll buy you status but certainly not respect
It’ll give you wealth but not happiness
Money is only relevant to the lifestyle you choose to live
On your deathbed you ache not for money but contentment
So why, throughout your life do you worship it so
Put it back in its rightful place
Manage it but never allow it to control you!

You will never fade from our memories
You will be with us through night and day
You will be heard in the blackbird’s melodies
And in the chirping of the Jay

You will be remembered in our tales of old
You will be the teardrop that arises from our cries of woe
You will be the music to our laughter
And the strength that will help us grow

Oh no, you have not vanished from our lives
For you will be the buttercup that embeds our meadow’s hay
You will be sitting on the fireside hob
Accompanying us in the evening as we pray.

You will be heard in the grandfather clock
Ticking time away
You will be the sun that awakens us at dawn
And the night sky that curtains off the day

So how can we say good-bye and share tears of farewell
From if Faith is true to its word, you’re not gone far.
For your graceful loving Spirit will always live on
As we sip our energy from life’s filled jar…

Wilful cries expressing your joy
Your features so different yet beautiful
You are our little Down syndrome boy

Your innocence so special and clear
Embedding simplicity so wise and true
Receiving messages of love smiling through
Your little slanting eyes so blue

A child of this world you choose to became
Bringing change to all our lives
Each moment you live without a care
Knowing, it’s your love that energises our joys

A new pathway in life you have shown us
While you enlighten us to the errors of our ways
It’s the grace of your innocence that guides us
While our unconditional love embraces your days
